I made a box as a gift for a dear friend of mine in Germany. The lid has walnut which I for the first time attempted making a pattern from the woodgrain. Then used abalone shell and brass as inlay. Outer sides are made of warm red plum wood, and insides used light ash tree, which lifts the box and gives the interior a feeling of being more spacious than it is.

This Christmas I was experimenting with sawing and gluing together patterns from different kinds of wood. And I was so happy with the panel that I decided to turn it into a smaller box which I could later give to a friend of mine who loves boxes as much as me.

Walnut and maple top, pear wood for the sides, and brass inlay for the outer framing.

And for this project I got the chance of using my new equipment from Flocking LTD for the flocking on the inside. Using the new equipment made the flocking process so much easier and a fantastic even result.

My best friend had a birthday and I had been planning on making him something. So I had these two pieces/panels of beautful patterned elm that I designed this box around. Lots of brass inlay to contrast with the walnut and maple strips on the outside for framing.

And for this project and another project I got the chance of using my new equipment from Flocking LTD for the flocking on the inside. The new equipment makes the flocking process so much easier and a fantastic even result. I can't recomend these guys enough with their fantastic customer service :-D

I totally didn't discover four accidental holes after screws that I did have to handle somehow with this one...

The wood was given to me by a friend after they cut down some birch trees at their property. Cracks were filled with brass and the inside was gilded with leaf silver that was chemically patinated.

The wood was given to me a couple of years ago by my brother who had rescued it from a worse fate at the local bonfire. Cracks filled with copper and rims also gilded with copper. Inside painted with black chalk paint.

First time I've attempted (and had the patience for) making a couple of matching pieces. These bowl were made from apple tree and cracks were filled with copper inlay. Insides were then painted with chalk paint which was also a first.

This box was a fun design I had wanted to try for a while as it slides out on the side. The box is made from pear wood on the sides and top is gorgeous patterned elm tree that I decided to glue up in a book matching pattern.

This keepsake box was made for my god daughter at the same time as I was making a larger keepsake box for her mother/my sister-in-law.

This was a larger bowl made from spalted chestnut wood. The cracks on the outside were filled with brass, and the inside was gilded with silver leaf and then chemically patinated.

The base that is detachable was made from a piece of oak that was ebonized to achieve the black color.
